Basketball Recap: Pleasant Grove Falls Despite Big Games from Makayla Boyer and Tabi Clark

Pleasant Grove lost against Lone Peak back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the Pleasant Grove Vikings and the Lone Peak Knights didn't end well, with the Pleasant Grove Vikings falling 66-52.

Despite the defeat, Pleasant Grove had strong showings from Tabi Clark, who went 8 for 19 on her way to 21 points and eight rebounds, and Makayla Boyer, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points. That was a full 40.4% of Pleasant Grove's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Cash Connors, who scored five points and five boards.

It was another big night for Kennedy Woolston, who went 5 of 10 to rack up 19 points along with eight rebounds and six assists for Lone Peak. The team also got some help courtesy of Zuri Nordstrom, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points.

Pleasant Grove has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Lone Peak, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Pleasant Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-40 win against American Fork on the 4th. As for Lone Peak, they have also already played their next contest, a 58-51 victory against Skyridge on the 4th.
