St. Thomas Aquinas came tearing into Thursday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the South Brunswick Vikings 77-21. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Vikings are ranked 165th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Thomas Aquinas' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points over those games. As for South Brunswick, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Coming up, St. Thomas Aquinas will head out to square off against Long Island Lutheran at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Long Island Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. South Brunswick will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Princeton at 4:00 p.m. on February 19th.
