Softball Game Preview: Itawamba Agricultural Indians vs. Booneville Blue Devils

The Itawamba Agricultural Indians will challenge the Booneville Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Booneville will be up against a hot Itawamba Agricultural team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Itawamba Agricultural never let Tupelo onto the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday.

The result came thanks to Layla Owens's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Skylar Partlow was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Partlow is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Abbie Robertson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Booneville got the win against Pine Grove on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-0.

Itawamba Agricultural's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs over those games. As for Booneville, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Itawamba Agricultural came out on top in a nail-biter against Booneville in their previous meeting on Friday, sneaking past 3-1. Will Itawamba Agricultural repeat their success, or does Booneville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
