Softball Recap: Emmanuel Christian Has No Trouble Against Ottawa Hills

Emmanuel Christian won the last time they faced Ottawa Hills and things went their way on Saturday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 24-3 margin over the Green Bears. Considering the Warriors have won three games by more than 11 runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Maggie Woodward and Ariella Morris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Woodward struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Morris struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. At bat, Woodward got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Morris went 2-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs.

In other batting news, Faith Taylor was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ava Barrett was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Emmanuel Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Emmanuel Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Ottawa Hills, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Emmanuel Christian beat the Green Bears by a score of 18-2 later that day.
