Baseball Game Preview: Hamden Dragons vs. Amity Regional Spartans

The Hamden Dragons will head out to square off against the Amity Regional Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamden will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Hamden came out on top against West Haven on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Dragons put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Amity Regional not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 21, 2025 (when they won 11-0). They blew past Law 12-1. The Spartans have beaten the Lawmen the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lawmen has come to flipping the script.

Hamden now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Amity Regional, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Everything went Hamden's way against Amity Regional in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Hamden made off with a 10-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
