Tri-Central's loss ends five-game winning streak on the road

Recap: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Rossville Hornets

The Tri-Central Trojans suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Rossville by a score of 69-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (65), Tri-Central still had to take the loss.

Tri-Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stetson Newcom, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Newcom posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Trenton Patz, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Rossville found their leader in underclassman Brayden Thiele-Hahn, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds. Jordan Skiles was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Tri-Central's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Rossville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Tri-Central will be playing at home against Anderson Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Anderson Prep Academy is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Rossville, they will head out on the road to challenge Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
