Basketball Recap: Spencerville Takes a Loss

Spencerville was the 48-39 winner over Kalida when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spencerville Bearcats took a 37-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kalida Wildcats on Tuesday. The contest marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Among those leading the charge was Meredith Bockrath, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Addilyn Huber was another key player, putting up ten points.

Spencerville is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8. As for Kalida, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Spencerville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 43-35 defeat against Bluffton on the 30th. Kalida has also already played their next game, a 59-13 victory against Continental on the 30th.
