Baseball Game Preview: Romulus Eagles vs. Melvindale Cardinals

Romulus is 2-7 against Melvindale since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Romulus took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Robichaud, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-14 win over the Bulldogs on Monday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Melvindale entered their tilt with Thurston on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Melvindale's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Romulus, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Romulus might still be hurting after the 20-0 loss they got from Melvindale in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
