Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Jacksonville Christian Academy came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Community Christian Cyclones, falling 95-49. While losing is never fun, the Conquerors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 650th, while the Cyclones are ranked 223rd).

Community Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Gattis led the charge by going 13-for-25 en route to 27 points and seven rebounds. The contest was Gattis' fourth in a row with at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Jared Kovach, who dropped a triple-double with 20 points, ten boards, and 12 assists.

Jacksonville Christian Academy's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Community Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Jacksonville Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Community Christian, they will challenge Christ Covenant on Friday.
