Volleyball Recap: EF Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Westridge

EF Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Westridge Tigers on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-5, 25-5.

Among those leading the charge was Sydney Erum, who had eight aces. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high. Lucia Flores-Rojas also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Westridge's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-6.

Looking ahead, EF Academy will venture away from home to square off against The Webb Schools at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Chadwick on the 5th.
