Benjamin Moya Turns in Season-Best Effort

Mar Vista was led to victory by Benjamin Moya, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Moya rushed for 32 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August.

Mar Vista moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak. Their road trip will continue as they head out to face Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Peter Thomas Delivers Electric Performance Vs San Ysidro

Peter Thomas helped snap Mar Vista's six-game losing streak. Thomas did his part (and then some), rushing for 74 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 130 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes for the 'W'. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.

For the season, Thomas has thrown 10 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 117.4 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one passing touchdown.

Dario Garcia Delivers Best Effort of Season

Sadly, Dario Garcia posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead San Ysidro over Mar Vista on Friday. Garcia rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. His longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.

Mar Vista's probably not too fond of Garcia given he always seems to get the better of them. Garcia rushed for 214 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.9 yards per carry the last time he and the Mariners duked it out back in October of 2023.

Southwest SD's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Conner Davis

Southwest SD's three-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Conner Davis. Nobody could stop Davis on Friday as he made four total tackles and defended a pass. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Southwest SD's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Davis and Southwest SD will welcome Mar Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mar Vista's six-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Ciontae Fewell. Fewell turned in nothing short of a gem on Friday, rushing for 97 yards on only eight carries, while also picking up 43 receiving yards. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making four total tackles.
