Preview: Argos Dragons vs. Rochester Zebras
The Argos Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Rochester Zebras at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Argos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
Argos pushed their score all the way to 56, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to West Central 61-56. Argos has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Argos got a solid performance out of Samantha Redinger, who scored 30 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The match was Redinger's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgyn Barcus, who scored 9 points along with 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Rochester didn't have too much trouble with Southwood at home on Saturday as they won 39-25. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rochester.
Rochester's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella McCarter, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Rylee Clevenger, who scored 13 points.
North Judson-San Pierre's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Argos' defeat dropped theirs to 3-5.
Argos didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Rochester in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 42-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Argos since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
