Basketball Recap: Patriot Falls Despite Big Games from Maysa Bilal and Cheyenne Sweeney

Patriot lost against Battlefield back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patriot Pioneers took a hard 45-27 fall against the Battlefield Bobcats. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cheyenne Sweeney and Maysa Bilal certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Sweeney dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards, while Bilal posted seven points. The dominant performance gave Sweeney a new career-high in rebounds. Sadie Herres also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Patriot's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Battlefield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-7.

Patriot will take on Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Patriot is facing Mountain View at the right time seeing as Mountain View is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Battlefield has already played their next contest (against Freedom), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
