Baseball Game Preview: Bunn Wildcats vs. Clinton Dark Horses

The Bunn Wildcats will face off against the Clinton Dark Horses on Friday. Bunn is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Bunn is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Louisburg 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 14 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clinton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Manteo a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Not much got past Jaxson Smith, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Manteo off the board. Smith has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brennon Bell was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Clinton pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bunn, their win bumped their record up to 23-2.
