Basketball Game Preview: Villa Rica Wildcats vs. New Manchester Jaguar

The Villa Rica Wildcats will take on the New Manchester Jaguar at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Villa Rica came up short against South Paulding on Tuesday, falling 57-34. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Spartans are ranked 154th).

Meanwhile, New Manchester entered their tilt with Rome on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They snuck past the Wolves with a 54-50 victory.

New Manchester pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Villa Rica, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Villa Rica, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-41 loss to New Manchester when the teams last played on January 7th.
