Baseball Game Preview: Westbrook Blue Blazes vs. Noble Knights

The Westbrook Blue Blazes will head out to challenge the Noble Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Westbrook has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 1st.

Westbrook fell victim to Marshwood and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Hawks. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 25, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Noble has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They fell just short of Thornton Academy by a score of 10-9. On the bright side, the nine- run effort marked the Knights' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Adam Dumont stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Aidan Roberts also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Westbrook's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Noble, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Westbrook couldn't quite finish off Noble in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Blue Blazes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
