Baseball Game Preview: Alliance Aviators vs. Marlington Dukes

For the second straight game, Alliance will face off against Marlington. The Aviators will head out to square off against the Dukes at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Alliance has four straight victories, Marlington has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Alliance beat Marlington 5-1. That's two games straight that the Aviators have won by exactly four runs.

Valentino Fisk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alliance's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bo Davis, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. DiAngelo Fisk was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Alliance pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Marlington, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
