Basketball Recap: Brackenridge Eagles vs. East Central Hornets        
        
		
             Brackenridge had to start their season on the road  on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were  outmatched by the East Central Hornets on the road  and fell  97-34. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  43-9.
 Despite the  loss, Brackenridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Jude Mendez  earned 13 points. What's more,  Mendez also posted a 38%  field goal percentage, which is the highest he's  posted since back in November of 2023.  Felton Nance was another key player,  going 5 for 11 en route to 12 points plus five  rebounds and two  steals.
 Brackenridge will look to defend their home court  on Monday against St. Anthony  at 6:30  p.m. St. Anthony will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  win, something Brackenridge surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  contest,  a  70-63  victory against United on the 9th.
