Volleyball Game Preview: Carroll Chargers vs. Westfield Shamrocks

After both having extra time off, the Carroll Chargers and the Westfield Shamrocks will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carroll will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Carroll is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Harrison.

Carroll's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Peters, who had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Peters has posted since back in September of 2024.

They weren't the only good servers: Carroll was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Westfield got the win against Bellmont on Saturday by a conclusive 3-0.

Westfield's win came from a few key players Carroll will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kendyl Strack, who had 21 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Blevins, who had 21 assists and nine digs.

Carroll's record is now 34-0. As for Westfield, their record now sits at 26-1.

Carroll came up short against Westfield in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
