Recap: Birchwood Christian Warriors vs. Lumen Christi Archangels
Even though the Birchwood Christian Warriors have not done well against the Lumen Christi Archangels recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Birchwood Christian managed a 44-38 win over Lumen Christi. For Birchwood Christian, this counts as revenge for the 37-33 loss Lumen Christi walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.
Birchwood Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Severns, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Severns has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Guderian, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds.
Birchwood Christian's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-2. As for Lumen Christi, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Birchwood Christian will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lumen Christi, they will be playing at home against Cook Inlet Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
