Football Recap: Loving Falcons vs. Jal Panthers
There's no place like home for Loving, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Jal Panthers by a score of 32-25 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their six-point performance the matchup before.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loving to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Tarvin, who picked up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Loving is undefeated when Tarvin posts 80 or more receiving yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Bobby Parraz was another key back, rushing for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Loving didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tarvin and Tristen Onsurez. Another thorn in Jal's side was Kalob Lujan, who made 14 total tackles.
Despite the defeat, Jal had strong showings from Andre Rodriguez, who gained 177 total yards and two touchdowns, and Daniel Ornelas, who rushed for 192 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Those 192 rushing yards gave Ornelas a new career-high.
Loving's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Jal, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Eunice the next time they take the field. Jal will host Eunice at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Loving will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.
