Softball Recap: Lennard's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Lennard dropped their record down to 9-9 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 6-1 to the Parrish Community Bulls. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Longhorns couldn't push the score so high this time.

Juli Rodriguez put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Rodriguez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madyson Pucillo, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

As for Parrish Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On Parrish Community's side, Emmaline Van Beck looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Van Beck has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Baylee Fields and Jersie Rohde did most of the damage at the plate: Fields went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run, while Rohde went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most RBI Fields has posted since back in March.

Lennard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parrish Community, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Lakewood Ranch on the 1st.
