Basketball Game Preview: Madison Central Jaguars vs. Brandon Bulldogs

The Madison Central Jaguars will face off against the Brandon Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Madison Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They skirted past Starkville 54-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Brandon didn't have too much trouble with Meridian on Thursday as they won 53-36.

Madison Central better keep an eye on Braelyn Bailey. He was instrumental in Brandon's win, going 7-for-13 to rack up 17 points. That's the most points Bailey has posted since back in November of 2024. Elijah Morey was another key player, putting up nine points and seven boards.

Brandon is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points over those games. Madison Central's win bumped their record up to 12-7.

Madison Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Brandon in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 54-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madison Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
