Softball Recap: Longview Wins Going Away Against Pittsburg

On Tuesday, the Longview Lobos made easy work of the Pittsburg Pirates and carried off a 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lobos, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Longview and bumps their season record up to 10-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Pittsburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Longview will host Rockwall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockwall will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Longview surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pittsburg, they will be playing at home against Harmony at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pittsburg has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
