Basketball Game Preview: Pike Red Devils vs. Brownsburg Bulldogs

Having just played yesterday, the Pike Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Brownsburg Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pike's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matchups.

On Monday, Pike didn't have too much trouble with Harvest Prep as they won 57-38. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in Indiana, while the Warriors are ranked 210th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brownsburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past Fishers 56-29 on Friday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Brownsburg's win came from a few key players Pike will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Avery Gordon, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Mcculloch, who posted 11 points.

Brownsburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fishers only racked up eight assists.

Brownsburg is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Pike, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.

Pike took a serious blow against Brownsburg in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 85-53. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Gordon, who went 10 of 13 en route to 25 points and seven rebounds. Now that Pike knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
