Softball Recap: Dorchester Academy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dorchester Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Cross Stingrays 14-13. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 13-1 victory back in April.

Lily Canady and Ryann Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Canady got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run, while Martin went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Martin a new career-high. Alyssa Grooms was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

The victory (which was Dorchester Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Cross, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-8.

As of now, neither Dorchester Academy nor the Stingrays have any future games scheduled.
