The North Newton Spartans will take on the Twin Lakes Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Newton has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
North Newton came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Lowell, falling 13-3. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Korbyn Haberlin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. North Newton is 4-1 when Haberlin posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Bijak, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Twin Lakes unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Kokomo by a score of 3-2.
Twin Lakes saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Wagner, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
North Newton's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Twin Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Newton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Twin Lakes struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
