Volleyball Recap: South Kitsap Falls to Bainbridge in First Game of Season + How To Watch

South Kitsap had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 3-1 to the Bainbridge Spartans. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While South Kitsap had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Maggie Yearout paced South Kitsap's offense, picking up 12 kills. Yearout got some help from Leilani Killian and her 17 assists. Killian was also a major player on defense: she and Elizabeth Pugh shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Kitsap will welcome Sequim at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bainbridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Foster at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
