Softball Recap: Greer Yellow Jackets vs. Landrum Cardinals

Greer was the 17-4 winner over Landrum when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Greer Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Landrum Cardinals by a score of 5-4 on Friday.

Morgan Arterburn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Adison Howard and Madison Zayas did some serious damage despite the final result: Howard scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Zayas went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
