Volleyball Recap: San Simon Comes Up Short

San Simon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the St. David Tigers. The Longhorns were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

San Simon took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-15, 25-19.

Evelyn Lopez paced San Simon's offense, picking up five kills. Lopez got some help from Alexia Newell and her six assists. Bryleigh Sloan and Alyzon Corrales kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

San Simon's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for St. David, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-18.

San Simon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Animas on the 18th. As for St. David, they are taking a road trip to challenge Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
