Baseball Recap: Orem Comes Up Short

Orem dropped to 1-3 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They came up short against the Mountain Ridge Sentinels, falling 16-2. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Sentinels since Wednesday.

Orem saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beck Berge, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Those hits marked the first that Berge has got this season.

As for Mountain Ridge, their record now sits at 1-0. The game was the first time they have beaten Orem on their field since April 16, 2021.

On Mountain Ridge's side, they got a massive performance out of Cooper Goff, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Goff has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Brody Garrard, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Orem will be taking part in a tournament against Salem Hills at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will venture away from home to challenge West Field at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
