Preview: Rio Grande City Rattlers vs. Martin Tigers
The Rio Grande City Rattlers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Martin Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Rio Grande City, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-29 loss to Nixon. Rio Grande City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Martin unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cigarroa. Martin has struggled against Cigarroa recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Martin had strong showings from Hayley Botello, who scored eight points, and Priscilla Torres, who scored five points along with three steals. Torres is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Rio Grande City dropped their record down to 18-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Martin, their loss dropped their record down to 15-17.
