Softball Game Preview: Shiprock Chieftains vs. Bloomfield Bobcats

Shiprock hasn't had much luck against Bloomfield recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Chieftains will head out to square off against the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. Shiprock has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Shiprock came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Aztec, falling 20-2. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Chieftains couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-0 to Gallup. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bobcats were not able to get on the board.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Shiprock, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Shiprock came out on top in a nail-biter against Bloomfield in their previous meeting on Thursday, sneaking past 19-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
