Volleyball Recap: Round Lake Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Round Lake can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Lake Zurich Bears on Monday. The Panthers have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Leading Lake Zurich to victory were Yani Oblakov and Wyatt Jones. Oblakov had four digs and two aces, while Jones had 14 assists and one block. What's more, Jones also posted an 80% hitting percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in April. Alex Nedev also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Round Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-29. As for Lake Zurich, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 23 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-3 record this season.

Round Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Zurich, they will take on Buffalo Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
