17 must be Lone Jack's lucky number: they beat Smithton with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Mules didn't even let the Tigers on the board, marking the Mules' second-straight 17-0 shutout. Considering the Mules have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lone Jack is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Smithton, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Lone Jack will host Versailles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Smithton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
