Softball Recap: Susquehanna Township HANNA vs. Middletown Blue Raiders
Susquehanna Township extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They came up short against the Middletown Blue Raiders, falling 28-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-5 back in April.
As for Middletown, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Middletown's part, Journee Stover was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Herneisey, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Susquehanna Township will head out to take on Palmyra at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.95 runs per game on average), something the HANNA will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Middletown, they will venture away from home to challenge Biglerville at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Canners will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Blue Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
