Huntingdon picks up fourth straight win at home

Recap: Huntingdon Mustangs vs. Westview Chargers

On Tuesday, the Huntingdon Mustangs faced the Westview Chargers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Huntingdon secured a 61-57 W over Westview. The victory was familiar territory for Huntingdon who now have three in a row.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashlee Brent, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Alexis Evans was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Huntingdon pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Westview, their loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-2.

Huntingdon will be playing in front of their home fans against Stewart County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Stewart County is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Westview, they will head out on the road to face off against Dyer County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Dyer County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
