Basketball Recap: Alta Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Alta won the last time they faced East and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Alta Hawks came out on top against the East Leopards by a score of 62-50.

Alta was led to victory by Alia Baldassano and Quincy Kegel. Baldassano went 6 of 10 on her way to 18 points, while Kegel went 7 for 14 en route to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Baldassano is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Meg Rawson, who posted eight points.

Alta was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

East's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylah Dulin, who put up 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aundrea Dennett, who had 18 points.

Alta is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for East, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Coincidentally, Alta and East will both be playing Skyline the next time they take the court. Alta will head out to face Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while East will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
