Basketball Recap: Union Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kenzy Ogden and Glory Ellis

Union came up into this matchup off a tough 42-point defeat last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Southwestern Spartans by a score of 39-37 on Wednesday. The Rockets' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Despite the defeat, Union had strong showings from Glory Ellis, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, and Kenzy Ogden, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards. That was a full 54.1% of Union's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Tanna Tatlock continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southwestern, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which Tatlock has scored at least a third of Southwestern's points. Maci Murray was another key player, putting up seven points.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Southwestern, the win snapped their losing streak at 13 games and leaves them with a 3-16 record.
