Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hawaou Ilyssa and Isabella Espinoza Lead Amphitheater to Victory + How To Watch

Amphitheater won the last time they faced Palo Verde and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers blew past the Titans 3-0.

The win didn't come easy: Palo Verde scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-21.

Amphitheater was led to victory by Isabella Espinoza and Hawaou Ilyssa. Espinoza had 16 assists and three aces, while Ilyssa had six kills, three aces, and one block. Those three aces gave Ilyssa a new career-high.

Amphitheater's record is now 4-5. As for Palo Verde, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Amphitheater and Palo Verde could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 223rd) will meet Sahuarita (ranked 106th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Palo Verde will take on Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (282 vs. 85).
