Recap: St. Paul's Wolves vs. Hammond Tornadoes
Make it nine blowout wins for the St. Paul's Wolves this season. Everything went their way against Hammond on Tuesday as St. Paul's made off with a 73-50 victory. Given St. Paul's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Hammond is ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Hammond lost, one person who can't be blamed is Justin Harland. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Cartez Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
St. Paul's has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Hammond, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-10.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Slidell the next time they take the court. St. Paul's will host Slidell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Hammond will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
