Recap: West Stanly Colts vs. Monroe Redhawks
The West Stanly Colts lost against the Monroe Redhawks back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. West Stanly was dealt a 56-6 defeat at the hands of Monroe. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Stanly in their matchups with Monroe: they've now lost six in a row.
Jett Thomas punched in a rushing score. Breyden Lambert was his top target, gaining 129 total yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monroe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaegan Chambers, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Chambers was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Micahjae Covington got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
West Stanly has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Monroe, their win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
West Stanly will head out on the road to face off against Randleman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Randleman will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Monroe, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bandys at 7:00 p.m. Bandys will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Monroe is ranked 18th).
