Baseball Preview: Salisbury School Crimson Knights vs. Pomfret School Griffins
Salisbury School has gone a perfect 3-0 against Pomfret School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Crimson Knights will take on the Griffins at 4:00 p.m. Salisbury School will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Salisbury School beat Frederick Gunn 4-1.

Matt Chirumbolo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Thomas O'Connell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Nasir Stevenson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Salisbury School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frederick Gunn struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Pomfret School was able to grind out a solid win over Wilbraham & Monson Academy on Saturday, taking the game 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Griffins.
Salisbury School's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Pomfret School, their record is now 9-7.
Everything went Salisbury School's way against Pomfret School when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Salisbury School made off with an 11-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crimson Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
