Eastern has gone a perfect 6-0 against Coolidge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ramblers will be playing at home against the Colts at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eastern has four straight victories, Coolidge has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Eastern beats Coolidge with 16 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Ramblers never let Woodson get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Ramblers, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Eastern got a massive performance out of Finnian Clapp, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-1. That's the most runs Clapp has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Foskett, who scored a run and stole five bases while going 2-for-2.
Eastern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .583 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while it was Coolidge who put the first points on the board on Wednesday, it was Roosevelt who put up more. The Colts fell just short of the Roughriders by a score of 6-5.
Coolidge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rodrigo Cabrera-Garcia, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Cabrera-Garcia also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another was Isaac Sanders, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Coolidge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Eastern, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1.
Coolidge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eastern hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. It's a different story for Coolidge, though, as they've only averaged .180. Will they be able to contain Eastern's hitters?
Eastern took their win against Coolidge when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 12-4 score. Will the Ramblers repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
