Basketball Recap: Timnath Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Timnath extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Izzy Schimmelpfennig. The Timnath Cubs came out on top against the Thompson Valley Eagles by a score of 46-39 on Tuesday thanks in part to Schimmelpfennig, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Those 19 points gave her a new career-high.

Thompson Valley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Gibbs, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Gibbs is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 58% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Penny Gilbert, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Timnath's victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Thompson Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

Coincidentally, Timnath and Thompson Valley will both be playing Roosevelt the next time they take the court. Timnath will host Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Thompson Valley will host them at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
