King Academy extended the longest winning streak in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) this week by beating Greenwood Christian, 50-38. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Clarendon Hall was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Saints defeated the Saints 52-28.
The Hawks' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Noah Hinzman threw for 103 and one touchdown and Joseph Hubbard had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Hubbard chipped in 170 yards. Cade Abrams helped Greenwood Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for 25 yards.
King Academy's Alex Berry and Cheyenne Bodie have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Berry has thrown for 952 yards this season, while Bodie, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 14 catches for 336 yards. Greenwood Christian's Hubbard leads the league in rushing yards with 715.
The marquee game in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Richard Winn Academy and Carolina Academy. The Eagles enters the game ranked 17th in the state, while the Bobcats ranks fourth.
Wardlaw Academy took down Jackson Academy 52-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
