Basketball Game Preview: Ida Baker Bulldogs vs. Dunbar Tigers

The Ida Baker Bulldogs will challenge the Dunbar Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Ida Baker is coming into the contest on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They came out on top against East Lee County by a score of 58-48 on Tuesday.

It was another big night for Maia Berdebes, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 13 rebounds. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. J'Kayla Thomas was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 21 rebounds.

Ida Baker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dunbar, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They breezed by Bonita Springs to the tune of 56-27 on Tuesday.

Ida Baker's record is now 4-13. As for Dunbar, their record now sits at 7-8.

Ida Baker ended up a good deal behind Dunbar in their previous matchup two weeks ago, losing 54-35. Can Ida Baker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
