Football Recap: Tulelake Comes Up Short

Tulelake lost against Bonanza back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Honkers took a blow against the Antlers, falling 64-36. The Honkers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Honkers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Robison, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and one score. Robison's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Alex Garcia, who gained 200 total yards and two touchdowns.

Tulelake now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bonanza, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Tulelake will face off against Plumas Charter at 6:05 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Honkers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Bonanza, they will square off against Illinois Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Antlers will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
