Volleyball Recap: South Lake Takes a Loss

South Lake lost against East Ridge two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, South Lake sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 23-25, 25-17, 22-25, 15-12.

Jade Bedingfield paced South Lake's offense, picking up 13 kills. Bedingfield got some help from Iris Trowbridge and her 19 assists. Finally, Bedingfield was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Ana Andrades Villa was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 17 digs and one assist. Those 17 digs gave her a new career-high. Breylan Fairley was another key player, getting nine digs and two aces.

South Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for East Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Coming up, South Lake will head out to face off against Edgewater at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Eustis at 7:00 p.m.
