League recap: Northwestern tops North Augusta to extend winning streak

AAAA Region III recap December 3, 2013

Northwestern extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region III this week by beating North Augusta, 49-21. The win marks 15th in a row for the the Trojans.

Northwestern took down the Yellowjackets 49-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mason Rudolph threw for 319 yards and 6 touchdowns during the win.

Kyle Richardson's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Julian Shockley contributed 100 yards. Dupree Hart helped Northwestern's passing attack out by catching 9 balls for 124 yards.

He went 28-39 with 1 interception.

Shockley was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 100 yards on 14 carries as the Trojans topped North Augusta. Hart also contributed to the rushing game with 18 yards on the ground.

Northwestern's Rudolph and Hart led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Rudolph has thrown for 3,889 yards this season, while Hart has 93 catches for 1,390 yards. Josh Brice from South Pointe leads the league in rushing with 791 yards.

He has recorded 86 catches for 976 yards this year.

The Trojans led AAAA Region III in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Dan Pippen's team. Rudolph in the win.
